Amputee Mary Daniel Onu’s Transformation

Recall the water seller, Mary Onu Daniel who came to limelight after her story broke early 2021 in the Punch Newspaper social media handles?

Same girl who astonishingly made over 25 million Naira in donations from sympathizers that were touched by the viral video of her selling drinking water to folks in the bustling axis of Oshodi instead of begging for alms like most people living with disability?

Turns out that the money was judiciously utilized with the coordination of the Lagos State Government and Igala Association.

In the aftermath, she became a landlady in Lagos.

Her kinsmen facilitated the purchase of a block of 4 flats with stores attached; all in her name.

She also relocated her 3 year old daughter and mum from Kogi state to live with her in the Lagos property.

The latest is that she’s progressing steadily and has dumped the crutch for a prosthetic limp.

The transformation is heartwarming and her upgrade is what dreams are made of.

A real-life Cinderella story.

Sadly, her counterfeit Prince Charming, AKA runaway baby-daddy, tried to defraud her of the huge donation like he did with a previous collection raised for her by some Nigerians during the Covid-19 pandemic lockdown of 2020 (when Mary was not this popular). Thus, he was shut out of her current fortune.

What do you think of her progress? Let us know in the comments!
