Below is the post Abubakar Usman Almajiri made on Facebook that started the whole fiasco;

Commentators who faulted Usman's judgement, got a tongue lashing;

He also made a lengthy post on sex as a tool for marketing by banks;
SEXUAL MARKETING IN NIGERIAN BANKS AND THE WAY TO THE TOP OF
NOT JUST YOUR BANK BUT HIGHER;
Since the time of Nigerian banking consolidation under the
Obasanjo/Soludo regime, the deployment of the evil idea of Sexual marketing in
our banking sector showed its ugly head in this country as banks struggled to
attract deposits to their coffers to satisfy the demands of the unnecessary
huge 25 billion capital base for 25 banks.
Recruitment and selection of bank employees focused on
sexually attractive ladies who can use their physical endowment to attract
deposits to their banks. The male folks employed by banks are referred to the
banks by people who have deposits in the banks or promises to do so or else,
you get employed but with unbearable pressure to meet up with ever growing
targets. Failure to meet up is an automatic sack.
Promotions and growth within banks followed the same
pattern. You can be in the bank for decades and somebody employed yesterday can
be will be your boss because he brings in huge deposits by hook or crook, for
all the bank cares. Experience and long years of diligent service thrown to the
dogs. An example of this is the lady President Buhari has chosen to be
Nigeria's Deputy CBN Governor. She joined the services of Diamond Bank in 2014
and rose to the board of the bank to be the Executive Director Retail and
within few days she was nominated to be the deputy governor of the CBN. Lets
not forget that there are so many people within the CBN who have spent decades
and some are even Phds since. The kind of scandalous appointments that never
cease to come from the PMB administration since he came. How would the teeming
experienced staff of CBN feel about this?
All of a sudden, we began seeing pictures of the lady
flying. Pictures to kill which are far worse than the ones we see those ladies
involve in marketing for banks wear when they go chasing for deposits from
government organisations and business persons. That brings us back to my topic
of discussion, sexual marketing.
Those of us with good ideas about marketing know about the
topic sex marketing. Those who don't, know about the idea of having attractive
ladies in the front desks in order to help sell well. Yes, that idea has been
on for so many decades and it helps to sell marvelously. The statistics of how
sex aids marketing is so alarming and this topic is gaining considerable academic
attention. Sex was described as one of the strongest and most effective selling
tools. The relationship between sex and marketing is a winning combination for
almost any business according to some experts.
According to a site I consulted, ' the earliest known use of
sex in advertising dates back to 1871, when Pearl Tobacco featured a naked
maiden on the package cover. In fact, the first brands to enter this trend
were: saloons, tonics, and tobacco.'
Psychologist attribute the success of sexual marketing to
what they call the lizard brain syndrome or an old brain. In terms of
evolution, the psychologist postulate,'it is the oldest part of our brain and
it’s responsible for survival. It pays attention to 3 things only: food,
danger, and.. sex. On top of your old brain, you have a mid and new brain ,
which take control of emotions and logical thinking. Even though our lizard
brain operates on subconscious level and so we are not aware of its presence,
it is continuously working, scanning environment in search of thinks that could
endanger you, things that you could eat and things that you could have sex
with. This is why using sex in advertising is so powerful. Whenever a person is
exposed to a sexual message, their old brain gets activated. And the second
that happens, the old brain takes over. It is very difficult to ignore sexual
messages. We are extremely strongly wired to react to sex. In fact, so
strongly, that we will respond to messages that only imply sex.'
let me not bother you with too much of the psychological
underpinnings around this corrupt marketing approach called sexual marketing.
Back to our obodo Nigeria as a case. Even under the same
Obasanjo/Soludo administration, the deployment of sexual marketing became so
alarming, so much, the government of the CBN began making moves to contain it.
They could not succeed due the political changes that came and the failure of
those who took over to see it to the latter.
You can help yourself with articles like 'Female bank
marketers, unholy targets and the sleaze, 'by the Nation and 'the quest to
survive in the uncertain labour market has pitched female bank marketers
between meeting their targets and immoral activities by SINA FADARE
There is a report 'by Ahmed Sule and Three Anonymous
Bankers' you may want to google it to find insider information on what goes in
banks regarding this sexual marketing.
https://www.proshareng.com/…/Human-Rights-Violations-…/18384 . This is the
magic involve in getting to the top of the banking echelon in Nigeria since post-
consolidation. do not be surprised how somebody can rise to be an executive
director of a bank in less than three years.
What is really surprising and jaw brecking is how this
problem creeps to the level of Central Bank of Nigeria. It never happened before
now. It is more shocking happening under the ' highly principled' Buhari
government from which much is expected. 'A change regime' no doubt.
A lady who was appointed Ed of her bank few days ago is now
a deputy CBN governor under Buhari. She was made an emergency ED just to get
her to meet up with the qualification for the the CBN slot as it appears to the
discerning. It is no more about the dress-to-kill hullabaloo we were making
before even though it could have much to do with that. weak as we are, men,
some of us can give anything and even everything we have when we get
intimidated by superior sexual marketing prowess. The power of such 'boobs'
over our foreheads in our enclosed offices can do a lot of magic like that.
Na here I come stop for now my pipo. If there is any typo, i
will address it later by noon"
Na wa!
Well, as we know, opinions mostly don't matter.
Entertaining read, I must add.
